The artwork is a tribute to The Jeepneys for being one of the national images of Filipinos. Jeepneys, which originated at the end of World War II have been the lifeline of Filipino commuters nationwide. It has been an iconic image in the Filipino culture and arts. It become a reflection of the Filipino spirit - resilient, innovative, and optimistic. It was conceptualized amid modernization talks of public utility vehicles in the Philippines. With each stroke and curl of the colorful paper, I am paying homage to the one and only "King of The Road" (Hari ng Kalsada).
